Frank Eates fans Pfc. James A. Doughty, 20, of Chelmsford, Mass. Doughty was mortally wounded during intense fighting in the Hiep Duc Vally, 35 miles south of Danang. The men were members of Bravo Co., 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division. The fighting in the Hiep Duc Valley was the site of some of the fiercest fighting of the war between Americans and North Vietnamese Army (NVA) regulars.
